While many staffers-turned-candidates tend to downplay their time in the political machinery, Comstock touted her tenure as the GOP's chief opposition researcher. She boasted of her sleuthing skills and promised she'd bring the same muckracking zeal to Congress in order to investigate Clinton, and particularly the Benghazi controversy.
Do people remember what it was like during the last years of the presidency of Bill Clinton? I remember that we got an almost daily drenching from news ranters, on full bore.
Remember all the hate that the Republicans were pouring onto the Clintons, and the country as well? They were obsessed by the Clintons. They still are.
Barbara Comstock, prime sewer trawler from back then, and now Congresswoman from Virginia’s 10th district, is running for re-election. Back then, she was digging up all she could on behalf of Dan Burton.
If Comstock wins, some expect —

What does LuAnn Bennett want to do for the 10th?
In this lovely interview in The Loudon Times, Bennett shows that she has real policies she wants to put in place, real ideas she’s working with. Also, she hits it totally right, in saying that the pay gap is a family issue, not a partisan one.
You can only choose one – what bill currently before the House would you most like to see passed?
HR 1619, the Paycheck Fairness Act. This common-sense bill would help end the gender wage gap by punishing employers for docking workers who share information on their wages, allowing workers to take action against wage discrimination and forcing employers to answer why someone is paid less than others.
Right here in the 10th District, we have the highest wage gap between men and women of all eleven of Virginia’s congressional districts. Women here make just 68 cents for every dollar a man makes for doing the same work.
While my opponent says that equal pay is a “partisan” issue, for me, it’s a family and economic issue. It’s just common-sense that men and women should be paid the same for equal work, and I will fight for just that when I get to Congress.
And President Barack Obama appeared in a political advertisement for LuAnn Bennett, after he endorsed her.
