9) Stephen Colbert bids farewell to "Tribute Jeb" as he exits "The Hungry for Power Games":
"This election is like survivor. But sadly, Jeb did not run an 'Amazing Race'. He just didn't have that "X-Factor", and nothing short of an 'Extreme Makeover' could make voters forget his 'Big Brother'. He had all the advantages of 'name recognition'…but was saddled with the burden of 'name recognition'.
Tribute Jeb distinguished himself as a moderate, by making a moderate effort, saying early on that a 'Republican centrist must be willing to lose the Primary, to win the General.'...CONGRATULATIONS! You're halfway there!
This must also be a blow to Tribute Jeb's sponsor in the Capital, who gave him $150 million…meaning his campaign cost as much as 'Inception'...only the ending of Jeb's campaign makes sense."

10) Democracy for America joined MoveOn, Ultraviolet, and activists from across Michigan to deliver more than 953,000 signatures to Governor Rick Snyder's office at the state capitol, demanding his resignation, and arrest for poisoning Flint families. They partnered with Michael Moore on this petition and included the signatures he gathered in their delivery.
The action attracted headlines throughout Michigan and received prominent local TV and radio coverage, in part because Ultraviolet brought an amazing ice sculpture made from tainted water with an unmistakeable message about Gov. Snyder poisoning Flint.

“This year so far, more people have died while taking a selfie than they have due to shark attacks. That's 12 for the former, and 8 for the latter.
Over 300 million of Instagram's total uploads have currently been tagged as #selfie, while a recent survey revealed that on average we spend five hours a week snapping ourselves.
Falling has been noted as the biggest cause of selfie-related death this year, followed by people being hit by moving vehicles while posing for a picture.
The phenomenon even prompted Russia to release guidelines in July to raise awareness of fatalities during selfie taking.
Yellowstone National Park meanwhile, has had to issue an official warning to visitors after five people have been gored by bison in the past four months alone, while trying to pose for a selfie with the wild beasts.
And in further sad but true news, a Wikipedia page has been started, documenting every known selfie death since 2014.
The majority of incidents have involved people between the ages of 18 and 22, and it’s hoped that dare devil selfies are part of a passing trend. “

"Bad GMO Bill on Fast Track”
“The plan appears to be to rush Sen. Pat Roberts’ voluntary GMO labeling legislation through Congress before opposition can form. We may only have days to stop it.Last week, we reported that another voluntary labeling bill in the Senate was in the works, introduced by Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS). Last Friday the bill was released, and it has already been scheduled for a mark-up— the moment when a committee debates and amends a piece of legislation. This means the bill could be considered by the full Senate as early as this Friday.
The speed with which this bill is moving through Congress is a testament to the power of the biotech industry and Big Food lobby, which is desperate to pass voluntary labeling legislation before Vermont’s mandatory labeling law goes into effect. When crony forces push hard enough, Congress can move fast: it is rare for such a major bill to be in the mark-up phase just seven days after being introduced.
Sen. Roberts’ bill has some minor differences with the House-passed Pompeo bill, but the main points are the same: the bill would preempt mandatory labeling efforts by the states and institute instead a voluntary labeling standard, a standard which Big Food can ignore.
The alarming rate at which this bill is moving means we must act now to stop this attempt to thwart the will of a majority of voters to know what is in their food."

Tell Them To REJECT The "Voluntary GMO Labeling" Bill!!

*NOTE* - Please understand that I do not claim to be a “journalist”. I am only passing on bits of information, which others have researched, that drift through my awareness, on any given day. I watch, read and listen to any number of different news and entertainment sources, and it’s more than anyone could possibly intake and retain in a day, so I created this little daily “cheat sheet” for myself, so that I could remember all these oddball facts. Then I decided to share these tidbits, and thus was born the Daily TILT. I do this for fun. I hope you enjoy it.

NOTE: I purposely do not include links or photos in the TILT. The idea is to not have one story be highlighted above all the others. And sometimes links can be stressful. I, myself, sometimes get conflicted when presented with too many choices, so I thought I'd save you the trouble of having to make any of those types of decisions for a few minutes, while you read the Photo and Link-Free TILT!
I encourage you to further research any story that interests you, though. They are easy to Google.
