Wall Street Journal:
Hillary Clinton has made huge gains since 2013, when her numbers were down in the 20’s. As you can see in the graph, her meteoric rise has been unabated, reaching the 30’s in 2014 and the 40’s during 2015. There’s no way to miss the pattern that emerges well before Bernie Sanders entered the race, so it’s very hard to pin the exponential growth on the Sanders campaign. As time goes by she proves her ability to break through the barriers of the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s!
The latest evidence comes in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll taken April 10-14. A regular feature of this survey asks voters about their “feelings toward” certain individuals or institutions—whether they are very positive, somewhat positive, neutral, somewhat negative or very negative. In April the poll found Mrs. Clinton hitting a dubious new record of 56% who have somewhat or very negative feelings toward her. Only 32% have a positive view.
Fortunately they have several months to work on these numbers. With a huge delegate lead overwhelming her competition (whose unfavorable numbers are way down there somewhere) the party will obviously make huge investments in a campaign to improve Hillary’s image. Those who blame the demise of her likability on Sanders may need to check their credibility meters.
Surely the American public will learn to see that up is down.
