I’m simply amazed that nobody else has posted something about this yet...(maybe something to do with the chilling effect of the suppression of “certain” kinds of information here?): Who here doesn’t recall the months of bitter ridicule that Bernie Sanders endured at the hands of the Clinton campaign for not having spent enough time or effort to raise funds for down-ballot Democrats and/or state party committees? Hillary and crew proudly held themselves up as a role model for how to do it, boasting about having raised many millions of dollars for state Democratic Party committees and candidates, in addition to funds for the Clinton campaign itself.
Now it turns out those claims were all part of a big hoax.
About two weeks ago, the Sanders campaign filed a formal protest with the DNC, alleging that the Clinton campaign has been colluding with the DNC to circumvent federal election law, by in essence laundering funds earmarked for state party committees and for the Hillary Victory Fund joint fundraising operation, then redirecting approximately 99% of those funds — either directly into the accounts of the Clinton campaign, or into DNC activities that benefit the Clinton campaign — directly, exclusively, and to a significant degree, illegally.
Early this morning, the story broke wide open with a piece in Politico, detailing just how the scam has been operating. A piece published on Monday at U.S. Uncut summarizes it as follows:
Bernie Sanders’ accusations that Hillary Clinton is using her joint fundraising committee to skirt federal campaign finance laws are now proven.
According to a new Politico report, the Hillary Victory Fund has kept 99 percent of approximately $60 million it was supposedly raising for state Democratic Parties. Under the agreement signed by Democratic Party leaders in 33 states, the Hillary Victory Fund would solicit donations from super-wealthy donors for as much as $353,400.
The deal agreed to by state parties and the Clinton campaign allows for the first $2,700 raised by the Victory Fund to go to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. The next $33,400 is earmarked for the DNC, and the remaining funds are meant for state Democratic parties. Under this agreement, it was assumed that the DNC would spend that money helping each respective state party win down-ballot elections.
However, after the original distribution, the Clinton campaign is the sole decider of what happens to the rest of the cash.
<snip>
This new report vindicates Sen. Sanders’ claims that Hillary Clinton was improperly using her joint fundraising committee to get around campaign contribution limits. Current campaign finance rules only allow a donor to contribute $2,700 to a campaign in a single election cycle.
Yet again, Hillary and her campaign staffers and surrogates have been caught in the most blatant kind of hypocrisy, smearing Bernie with accusations of doing, or in this case not doing, the very thing of which Hillary herself is guilty! Is it really any wonder why she has a 55% disapproval rating in the opinion polls? Or why her scores on “trustworthiness”, and “honesty”, and “ethics” are in the gutter? Or why she’s currently running behind Donald Trump in a potential general election match-up (while Sanders is way out ahead)?
Is this really the person we’re going to pin all our hopes on in the crucial 2016 general election? Really?
