So many questions about Don Jr, but all I have to say is thank heavens he lives in New York and will never step close to elected office, because he clearly has the ambition. So let’s move on to Shelley Moore Capito and hurry up so we can get Ben Carson!

Moore Capito weeps for all the coal miners losing their jobs, because stupid clean energy doesn’t cause black lung disease.

I wonder if Moore Capito weeps for the horse buggy drivers who lost their jobs when cars were like “oh, we’re so much faster and more efficient!” 

Smart states see the writing on the wall on dirty fossil fuels and are investing in clean energy sources. Places like Iowa and Texas are investing heavily in renewables. You either go where the market is going, or you become obsolete. There’s no reason West Virginia couldn’t work on programs to transition coal miners to industries that don’t kill them off thanks to asshole coal operators and their cost-shaving lax safety standards, or through black lung disease as Republicans fight to deny people affordable health care. 

Dirty energy is on the way out, whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump or Shelley Moore Capito think otherwise. You evolve and adapt, or you are left behind. Republicans would rather cling to that dirty past, than figure out a way to transition to the future. But isn’t that the very essence of Republicanism?

Capito is kinda all over the map on this one. Started talking about jobs, moved on to Clinton emails, back to jobs, back to Clinton… she may figure that 2-3 sentences about jobs at a time is all these people will put up with before their next Hillary-hate fix.

You have to wonder if these Republican Senators get how a Supreme Court blockade plays outside of this room. Because they’re all touting it. And they may think they’re just giving red meat to the base, but do they get that this is going to be on tape for the rest of the whole election?
