Free Online Course: Making Sense of Climate Science Denial

    I am a 58 year old student enrolled in an online course available at; edx.org, titled “Making Sense of Climate Science Denial”. This is a MOOC, (Massive Open Online Course), and is free. The author of this course is John Cook who conceived one of the most well respected climate myth debunking web sites in existence. You can find that at www.skepticalscience.com.

    The present course began in August and ends on Sept. 27, 2016 but don't let that dismay you as it will run again in the near future. In fact if you are really hungry one could fairly easily catch up as it only requires 2-4 hours per week. Basic high school science is recommended.

    In it you will discover the workings behind the world’s climate system and the present change that is occurring from increased greenhouse emissions. Many of the worlds leading climate scientists discuss at length their line of research and thoughts on the climate denying community. 

    This is every bit as much of a Social Psychology perspective as it is a scientific one. Climate science communication is relatively new as it parallels the growth of the right wing war on climate science.   This has proven to be a very difficult hill to climb given the vast amount of scientific evidence supporting it.

    That’s the heart and soul of this course, making sense of such an obvious thing that escapes so many.

    So please look into it, as the most likely cure is a well informed public.
