The more I see of DJT, the more I am persuaded that all his claims about himself are lies.
He is not wealthy, not smart, not a good businessman, not a winner.
Basically, he’s absolutely nothing that he says he is.
DJT is Not Super-Rich
He wants us to believe he is a member of the super-rich, but he doesn’t act like one.
For years he has had the reputation of stiffing small businessmen who extended him credit on the basis of his name. They didn’t know his name was mud, at least when it comes to paying debts. At least one vendor lost his business because of DJT.
He said he would self-fund his campaign but he accepted campaign donations and we’ll never know how much of that money went into his own pocket.
He sold all kinds of ridiculous gewgaws—where did that money go? (The comments page for his MAGA hat Christmas ornament is an instant classic.)
He charged the Secret Service more than a million and a half dollars to fly on planes already owned by one of his companies.
He is planning to charge the Secret Service government money for the space they will need in Trump Tower to protect the first family there. Where will THAT money go?
He refused to divest from his businesses and create a blind trust. He carefully avoided including the countries in the Muslim Ban where he has hotels and other business interests.
He begged to keep the Executive Producer credit on Celebrity Apprentice, which basically just entitles him to a share of the profits from the show (if it earns any—folks seem to be boycotting it).
He gives every impression of being “house poor” — yes he owns a lot of properties, but in all likelihood they are heavily mortgaged. He calls himself the king of debt and is infamous for borrowing money and not paying it back.
Under oath he said his estimate of his net worth depends on how he feels on any particular day.
He claims to be worth ten billion dollars, but I would be surprised if he were even worth one billion. Yes, one billion dollars does make you rich, but this is about the changing numbers that come from his mouth.
Now that he is president he is STILL asking for money from his mailing lists (yes, I am on one—gotta know what the other side is up to).
If DJT were really rich, he would be annoyed at all our claims that he isn’t rich, and would want to prove it, considering how proud he is of it.
Until we see his tax returns, his wealth is all in his own mind, just like his 42% unemployment number, his beliefs about the size of his inauguration crowd, and the Bowling Green Massacre.
Until he proves it with public records, DJT is not worth ten billion dollars.
DJT is not super-rich.
DJT is not smart
I admit I got caught with this one myself for a while. DJT kept talking about Wharton this and Wharton that and he was smart because he went to Wharton, the number one business school in the country.
Like millions of other people I assumed he had an MBA from Wharton. George W. Bush is not the brightest bulb on the tree and he has an MBA from Harvard Business School so I figured DJT got his degree in pretty much the same way.
Turns out that DJT never went to business school at Wharton.
He has no graduate degree whatsoever.
His name dropping about Wharton is a sleight of hand that successfully fooled me for months and fools everyone who does not know The Wharton School awards Bachelor of Science in Economics degrees at the undergraduate level.
That’s right. All DJT has is a B.S. in Economics. (Insert your own B.S. joke here.) I’m supposed to be impressed with that?
His third grade vocabulary, his childlike attention span, his inability to do deals on his own without his children present—these things are indicators of minimal intellectual ability.
DJT is not smart.
DJT is not a “good businessman”
Six businesses have filed for bankruptcy under DJT’s “management”
- The Trump Taj Mahal, 1991
- Trump Castle, 1992
- Trump Plaza and Casino, 1992
- Plaza Hotel, 1992
- Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts, 2004
- Trump Entertainment Resorts, 2009
My mom explained to me how casinos work when I was very young. The odds in every game favor the house, and the house takes a cut of every game.
Anyone who can lose money on a casino is a fool.
I refer to DJT by his initials in part because I don’t want to give extra internet presence to his brand and his name. I’m sure he googles “T***p” every day to see how many mentions he gets on the internet, so I’m not adding to it.
I also use his initials because I hope it reminds him of the fifth business on the list above, whose stock ticker symbol was DJT. It lost 600 million dollars before it went bankrupt. Someone who invested $100 in 1995 ended up with $8.72 in 2000. And yet gullible small business owners all over the country imagine that he deserves their vote because of the business empire they think he has built.
We thought GWB would be incompetent with the economy because of Arbusto? What will happen when DJT brings his own special form of “business acumen” to the US economy?
DJT is not a good businessman.
DJT is not a winner
Obama had a larger inauguration crowd.
Both times.
DJT lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes.
But the more telling metric is: he has no friends.
The only people who bother associating with him are people who need something from him.
You know how in campaigns they usually have interviews with Joe Blow who was the candidate’s college roommate, or So-and-So who was his friend since high school and always thought he’d make it big someday?
Did you ever see a story or an interview like that during the campaign? Even once?
Look at the Republican National Convention. Every featured speaker was someone who was either financially dependent on him, or hoped to get a plum job in his future administration.
Everything about his life and personality and affect screams “desperately lonely attention junkie.” It is almost enough to make me feel sorry for him.
Almost.
The thing that will disappoint him second-most about the presidency will be when he finds out that he is not a King and he can’t accomplish everything he wants by executive order.
The thing that will disappoint him most about the presidency is when he finds out that being president will not make people like him.
Even Howard Stern recognized that DJT’s greatest driving motivator was his desperation to be liked and loved. Fame won’t guarantee it. It may get you access to beautiful naked women without their consent, but they won’t like or love you. Money won’t buy it. It can get you a beautiful obedient wife who is submissive in every way you desire, but her thoughts are her own.
And the presidency does not automatically come with it, regardless of what KAC or Omarosa think. I will not bow down to him, and he is #NotMyPresident. I will not equivocate on my opinion. I have always worn it on my sleeve, and on my clothing each day I wear my black star button. He’s “the” President but to earn the title “My” President, the Oval Office occupant must inspire a certain level of fondness and personal identification. DJT may demand that I obey him but he cannot command my respect and he certainly can’t have my affection so long as he persists in policies designed to enrich himself and hurt people I care about.
I look at DJT and see the Crassus character from Spartacus (well, except that Laurence Olivier was gorgeous then… damn I bet DJT think he looks like that now. DJT probably thinks he looks *better* than Olivier LOL...).
Crassus was the highest ranking man in the most powerful city of the most powerful empire in the known world. He had more money than he could count (he was really rich, not faking like DJT). Countless servants and soldiers obeyed his every wish.
But he was frustrated that he could not win the heart of Varinia, who was married to Spartacus. Crassus owned Varinia, he could “take her any time” as brutish owners have always done with beautiful female slaves, but he wanted her to freely offer herself to him. It galled him that all his status and power and money and gifts meant nothing to her. It angered him that she preferred the simple man who was born a slave, who inspired so much devotion that thousands and thousands would have gladly died in his place.
DJT meanwhile has a Secret Service agent openly admitting she would not take a bullet for him.
That’s why it drives him crazy that many millions of people all around the world admire Barack Obama. Maybe even billions. DJT compares himself to Obama, someone he has never felt was worthy of his respect, and can’t even imagine any one would think Obama was the better man and the better President.
But as the depth of dislike for DJT and his policies grows, as the smoke fades and the mirrors break and even the most thick headed of the people who voted for him realize they have been played, as his approval numbers drop to Nixonian levels, it will finally occur to him that he is despised. All over the world. By millions. Maybe even billions.
If you can’t even bribe people to like you, with jobs and cabinet appointments and tax cuts, if you can’t bully people into liking you, with threats of wars and economic punishments and diplomatic snubs, isn’t that what a loser looks like?
So. Not rich. In hock up to that orange thing on his head. Not smart. Barely operating at a 5th grade intellectual level. Not a good businessman. Bankrupter of half a dozen businesses. First runner up in the popular vote, and to a woman. Smaller inauguration crowds than the black guy he openly despised for years. The attention junkie may have bamboozled the deplorables into providing his narcissistic supply, but we outnumber them.
I guess we have to wait for a failed re-election campaign in 2020, a resignation in disgrace, or (pleaseGodpleaseGodpleaseGodpleaseGodplease) an impeachment and removal, for him to recognize...
...he really is a loser.

They actually played this song at the Republican National Convention. Do these guys *ever* listen to lyrics?
