Only a White House as juvenile as Donald Trump would engage in a cover-up over its fearless leader’s very busy golf schedule. That's exactly what happened Wednesday after an unsuspecting Washington Post reporter delivered the morning’s first pool report from West Palm Beach stating that spokesperson Lindsay Walters anticipated Trump having a "low-key day."
She also said that the president plans to make a number of calls his [sic] week, especially related to tax reform, and that the White House will provide readouts of those calls. Otherwise, she expects a “low-key day.”
Less than 10 minutes later, "A correction to Pool Report No. 1" was issued:
While the White House communications staff expects the press pool to have a “low-key day,” the president will NOT have a low-key day and has a full schedule of meetings and phone calls.
Less than an hour-and-a-half later, Pool Report No. 3 noted that the motorcade was heading for Mar-a-Lago (i.e. a rigorous golfing excursion).
Ya know, playing 18 holes takes a lot of concentration over a long period of time. There’s nothing low-key about it.
