Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D. NH) in support of U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D. MA), Claire McCaskill (D. MO) & Tammy Baldwin’s (D. WI) re-election campaigns:
We have 10 Democratic women running for re-election this cycle. That’s nearly half of all women in the Senate.
Elizabeth Warren is up in Massachusetts. Without her, we wouldn’t have the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency that holds Wall Street and corporate billionaires accountable.
Claire McCaskill is up in Missouri. Without her, we wouldn't have one of our top supporters of reforms that would extend the Social Security and Medicare promise to future generations.
Tammy Baldwin is up in Wisconsin. Without her, we wouldn’t have our first openly LGBTQ Senator and powerful advocate to let children stay on their parents’ health insurance until age 26.
When the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee launched the Women’s Senate Network to make sure that these women and more stay in the Senate, we knew this community would be all in.
We’re asking you to join all of us on Team Maggie and support the Women’s Senate Network. Please, give $3 or more to help us build a community to stand with Democratic women like Elizabeth, Tammy, and Claire who run for office.
We won’t mince words: 2018 is going to be a tough year for Democrats. But we also know that Democratic women are some of the most persistent, resilient leaders we have.
That’s why the DSCC’s Women’s Senate Network is ramping up its 2018 efforts to elect smart, tough, and experienced candidates to fight for what’s right — who understand that women are not pre-existing conditions, that we deserve equal pay, and we absolutely need Planned Parenthood and affordable health care for hardworking families.
If this sounds like a fight you want to be a part of (and you should!), make a gift of $3 or more to join the Women’s Senate Network.
Thank you for being part of this. Women across the country thank you too.
— Team Maggie
