Republican gubernatorial candidate and former Donald Trump campaign chair in Virginia Corey Stewart is in even more trouble. A few days ago it was the fact that Stewart was using racist, neo-nazi, psycho sexual pejoratives to describe his Republican opposition. This week it’s the fact that Stewart spent $1,200 of the cash his campaign raised to go to a black-tie ball connected to the tiny-handed dictator-wannabe Trump’s inauguration.
Campaign finance reports filed with the Virginia Department of Elections show that Stewart made two separate payments of $600 to the Texas State Society of Washington, DC for "event tickets." The group hosted the Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball in January.
Tickets for the event
retailed at $300 for non-members of the organization and $275 for members. The inaugural ball, held in National Harbor, Maryland, featured
performances from the Beach Boys and was attended by politicians and celebrities. Photos posted on Facebook by Stewart
show him with his wife and friends with the caption, "On our way to the Texas Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball!"
Sure this is dubious. But when top dog in your party is taking weekly trips campaigning and “working” on golf courses—that you own—
on the country’s dime, it’s hard to blame a racist idiot like Stewart. He’s only trying to be like the orange-billionaire-brother he never had. Also, his competition is a Republican, so $1,200 of inappropriately used campaign funds is nothing.
Noel Fritsch is “a spokesman for Stewart.”
"Corey Stewart, who was Donald Trump's Campaign Chairman in Virginia, and who, unlike Lobbyist Ed Gillespie, isn't off hobnobbing with insider lobbyists at $10,000-a-plate dinners in an attempt to buy the governor's mansion, purchased a few tickets to a Trump inaugural ball," Fritsch said.
I wish both of them would retire.
