During the Senate confirmation hearing for Christopher Wray, Donald Trump’s nominee to replace James Comey as the FBI Director, Wray was asked by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) whether Donald Trump Jr. should’ve taken the meeting with the Russian lawyer. Wray bizarrely stumbled around his answer, saying he wasn’t in a “position to speak to it.”
Sen. Graham re-phrased it, saying, “Let me ask you this, if I got a call from somebody saying the Russian government wants to help Lindsey Graham get re-elected. They’ve got dirt on Lindsey Graham’s opponent. Should I take that meeting?”
The answer should be “No. Hell no.” Seems like a no-brainer, right? Wray’s initial response was both bizarre and troubling and Lindsey Graham kept pressing:
