Wherein I let the man speak for himself — Garlin Gilchrist II has the experience to improve voter turnout and participation in Detroit, which could help us all take back our country’s government.
He organized for soon-to-be President Obama in 2008, organized for MoveOn, and organized from within Detroit’s city government, introducing effective policies for transparency and designing apps for citizen participation in city government, reporting problems, and progress on city issues as basic as broken fire hydrants. For more details, please see my story from July 14, Of Detroit, of Michigan, of Country, and of Democracy: Garlin Gilchrist II for City Clerk.
Let the man speak for himself.
