Republicans have been so set on repealing the Affordable Care Act, the discussion has drifted away from what we really need to be talking about: increasing quality of care and bringing down costs.
Let's get back on track.
Too many still struggle with high insurance premiums, unaffordable deductibles, and limited options. Especially Americans between the ages of 55 and 64.
Right now, 41 million Americans fall into this category. They pay an average of more than $1,200 a year in out-of-pocket costs. And they're more likely to experience chronic conditions.
These individuals and families often have trouble finding quality, affordable care. Many either can't get insurance through their job, or are ready to retire but are too young to qualify for Medicare.
We can fix this problem with a straightforward solution: Make them eligible for Medicare.
I have a plan to make those 55 and over eligible for Medicare. If you’re with me on Medicare at 55. Add your name >>
This plan won't only be good for those who would now qualify for affordable, quality care. It's good for Medicare as a whole.
Pre-elderly adults ages 55 to 64 are generally in better health than those 65 and over. According to a report on Cleveland.com: "Broadening enrollment with healthier people could help shore up Medicare's finances."
This is the kind of fix our healthcare system needs right now. I’m working to get people on board because I think it’s a solution that can do real good for millions of Ohio families.

I know we can get this done. Thank you for your support.
