We know Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is failing Montana children. Her department already tried to deny the University of Montana critical funds because their application wasn't double-spaced.
Well, DeVos just struck again.
A report in the Billings Gazette reads: "A handful of Montana's smallest rural schools lost out on a federal grant after changes required schools to go through a cumbersome application process."
More red tape. More Montana schools deprived of vital funds. And more Montana children paying the price for bureaucratic nonsense in Washington.
I'm fighting to get DeVos and the Department of Education to, once again, reverse this ridiculous decision. I need you to join me.
Demand Betsy DeVos do her job and make sure Montana schools have the resources they need to help students succeed. Add your name to mine.
Stuff like this really hits home. I was a teacher. It's hard enough for schools in Montana -- especially small, rural schools -- to buy the things they need for students. Many go into their own pockets.
This shouldn't be a partisan issue. There shouldn't be a million hoops for schools to jump through. Betsy DeVos's job is to give schools what they need -- not to be the formatting police.
I won't stand back and watch Montana students get shortchanged. The last time DeVos tried to take resources from our students, we came together. We fought back. And the Education Department reconsidered their decision.
Let's do it again.
Add your voice to mine and demand DeVos reinstate these vital funds for Montana schools.
Thanks,
Jon
