Assaulted after catching him cheating in her home,

Monday night I spent several hours in the ER, That's old news. While I was waiting for lab results they brought in a young lady that was screaming in pain and coughing up blood. It seems that she had been assaulted by her now ex-boyfriend when she went to the house she was renting to gather her personal property. She had caught him cheating and broke things off. He was civil on the phone when she called him so he knew she was coming to get her stuff. He ambushed her as she entered the house, Striking her multiple times in the face and head. Including hitting her with a bottle on the top of her head, Two weeks ago she went threw abdominal surgery so he kicked her several time in that area also. I was in the next trama room to her so I could hear her plain. A woman was with her and told the police she had the entire assault on camera on her phone.

I felt sad for her and sorry that she had to deal with such an ass.Some would say she is at fault for being with such a person, I can see that there is some blame to be put on her for hooking up with him. But this was all him. She was not responsible for his attack. too many victims are blamed for what happened to them, Be it assault or rape. This putting the complete blame on the victim is a breach of trust and undeniably an unacceptable situation anyplace. We need to stand up for the real victims and change the viewpoints of our justice system nationwide. Stop blaming the victim and give them their rights back. And give them justice.
