A gmail account comes with a spam box where suspicious e-mails are sequestered. Certainly you’re familiar with these. Under normal circumstances, what I find in my spam box, when I bother to look, is a collection of what you might expect to find there: solicitations for sex, announcements of inheritance from unknown relatives, threats to revoke my credits card, and so on. In the past, they have even included my name in the subject.
Right now, however, another name keeps popping up in my spam box: Marla. I don’t think anyone who meets me would mistake me for someone named Marla, but somehow, the spammers seem to think that’s who I am. Here’s a sampling:

...and about 40 more over the past 48 hours. Due to this odd misdirection, I know Marla’s last name and the midwestern city she lives in. Frankly, I’d rather remain ignorant about her, and let her deal with her own damned spam. What is the world coming to when spammers become incompetent? (Vlad, are you paying attention?) And Marla, if you’re reading this, sorry, but i’ve deleted it all.

From MikeTheLiberal:
I’m recommending this comment from Captain Frogbert in Thomas Hailey Kloecker’s recommended diary. It’s the first of probably several comments in that diary that should provide some insight into just how ethically challenged this administration is, and why it’s supported by some in America who want a “strong leader”.
And this is the comment I want to see when I search for comments tomorrow night.
From joniworx:
This comment by Crimson Quillfeather will continue to be valid for any evening for which #45 will still be in the Oval the following day. From Joan McCarter’s front page post in anticipation of the latest (very short) government shutdown.
