PENNSYLVANIA GOP 2018 DISTRICTING PROPOSAL

At the 11th hour last night, PA Republican State House leaders sent their court-ordered redistricting map to Governor Wolf.  (Map proposal shown above www.pennlive.com/...)  What they have done is created a map as favorable to their party as the existing map but with more compact and contiguous districts.  This was achieved at the expense of certain individual incumbent PA-U.S. House members and certain aspiring  GOP candidates.

The map is remarkably, perhaps ludicrously similar to this one projects.fivethirtyeight.com/...

which was put forward by 538.com, somewhat in jest, as the most brazenly GOP-favorable option.

They’ll now dare Wolf (a Democrat) and the PA Supreme Court to approve this new “fair looking” map, and will scream bloody murder about the Dems subverting the voting process” from here to November if they do not. 

None of this is going to be easy.
