My good friend Samantha Scott, otherwise known as littlefire was traveling from Houston to Colorado, and just north of Amarillo was clipped by another car and forced off the road, where her car rolled several times. Her 13 year old daughter was lifted to Lubbock with a fractured wrist, shoulder and neck, and a collapsed lung, she is also a brittle asthmatic, which just complicates things further. Sam and her 9 year old autistic son are a little better, Sam has a bruised sternum and ribs and an abrasion on one eye, stitches above the other.
They were in process of moving, so everything they owned was in that car, and her Emotional Support animal (who also did asthma alert), a cat named Kalache was last seen fleeing from the accident. They haven’t found him yet.
Right now she’s preparing to get a taxi to a hotel in Amarilla after discharge from the hospital, but she has to figure out how to get to her daughter in Lubbock, and she says she needs an i-phone charger and a couple of changes of clothes to get them through until she can try to salvage things from the wreck. She works on the computer, and I don’t know if that survived either at this point, this all just happened earlier this afternoon.
Her paypal is laelaroisi at icloud.com if anyone can help out.
I don’t have an address to send things to directly yet, but I’ll be in touch with her as long as her charge lasts on her phone. Right now we’re just trying to get her through this crisis, then later we’ll figure out how to get her the rest of the way to her new apartment (which is paid for and waiting) in colorado springs. We’re hoping she’ll be able to rent a car for that, once she’s able to drive.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Message from Sam: Tell them all I said THANK YOU. That will let us breathe the next few days! Y’all have currently raised $968. Which will help cover any housing and food while I look after my daughter’s recovery. My son is on a special diet, and this will help keep him on track as well. Thank you all so much again!

Kolache: The accident occurred on 385 north of Amarillo. I don't have a mile marker at this point, though according to her sister it was in the local paper this morning because they had to shut down 385 for the medivac.

Ok, from Sam: She talked to the trauma surgeon who said that other than her lungs her daughter’s internal organs are fine. Last I spoke to her, a couple of hours ago, they were waiting on an MRI on her neck/spine before putting a plate and pins in her hands, but she was expected to be intubated a while after surgery because her lungs are still struggling a lot. She's ok on Oxygen, but every time they try to take her off of it her sats drop into the low 80’s. Part of that is the asthma with the collapsed lung, and part o fit is because she has to lay flat. The fractures in her neck are at C5/6 and T1. So at the very least she’s going to be in a c-collar and back brace for 6-8 weeks, if they don't have to do surgery. Sam has yet to get her own prescriptions filled (she has the money to get them thanks to you all), and I told her to go do that while her daughter was in the MRI.
