Received this e-mail today from the Council for a Livable World:
Yesterday marked one year since President Trump took office — and what a year it's been, from gutting the State Department to refusing to certify the Iran nuclear agreement to boasting about "nuclear buttons." And so much more.
We need senators who will stand up to him now more than ever. We need progressive candidates to gain more seats, and we can't risk losing the ones we've got. Will you help us by donating to our candidates running in states President Trump won to make sure they stay in office?
- Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin has been a progressive star in Congress since 1998 when she was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. She supports the Iran nuclear agreement and exhausting every diplomatic option with North Korea. She faces a tight race this year.
- Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania is a firm supporter of the Iran nuclear agreement and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. Casey supports negotiations with Russia to reduce nuclear weapons on each side by one-third and is a strong advocate of increasing funds to programs that could prevent a nuclear terror attack.
- Senator Jon Tester of Montana is a top target by hawks. Tester voted for the New START Treaty and for the Iran nuclear agreement. Tester, who continues to run his family farm growing organic crops, has a track record of appealing to a broad swath of voters.
Will you help us return these candidates to the Senate to spread the message that while President Trump may have won their states, voters still want reasoned, informed, progressive legislation on national security?
Thank you for all you do.
Sincerely,
James McKeon
