It’s a day of threat and chaos. Monday’s explosive device sent to George Soros was followed by the Wednesday morning revelation that the Secret Service had intercepted explosives sent to former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Next, New York City’s Time Warner Center, which houses CNN studios, was evacuated, with heavy police presence.
“The police are suggesting everybody move away from the Time Warner center at Columbus Circle in New York as quickly as possible,” Wolf Blitzer said—from a different studio than the one shown being evacuated earlier. New York-based anchors Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto were left reporting from the street, blocks away from their office, via cell phone, as live footage showed a bomb containment truck arriving.
CNN also reported that a package addressed to the White House had been intercepted, a never-confirmed report that was subsequently contradicted by Reuters.
