From the bowels of Donald Trump's faux "get tough" on Russia show, comes this response from White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders when she was asked whether Vladimir Putin was a "friend or foe" of the United States.
"I think that's something that Russia is going to have to make that determination."
That is simply stunning. The very person who oversaw a multi-million dollar effort to hack our elections in 2016 is now in charge of deciding what the U.S. foreign policy posture toward him and his country should be.
Seriously??
Sanders’ deference to Puti was sandwiched in between declarations that the administration has been “extremely tough” on Russia and assurances that said toughness would continue until they “change their behavior.” Meanwhile, over in Russia, Putin is falling out of his chair with convulsive laughter. The White House press secretary just put him in charge of defining his relationship with the super power he’s longed to dominate ever since his Cold War days in the KGB.
