received this e-mail today from former Obama Senior Advisor, Valerie Jarrett (who I have had the pleasure of meeting in person), in support of former Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams’ (D. GA) gubernatorial campaign:
Dear Friend,
When I was Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, I worked with Stacey Abrams to ensure that the people of Georgia had access to health care and the opportunity to improve their families' lives. Now, I am impressed by Stacey’s bold new vision, proven track record, and deep commitment to Georgia. Stacey Abrams is the right leader to move Georgia forward.
When the Affordable Care Act was enacted, Stacey Abrams made sure families across the state knew about this life-saving law and helped them sign up for health care coverage.
As the House Democratic Leader, Stacey led Georgia Democrats to host ACA town halls in their districts and boost enrollment. She spearheaded a nonprofit effort to hire canvassers across Georgia who answered questions about the ACA and helped people enroll. And when she saw that families in Republican districts were going without care, she personally traveled to those red districts to sign people up.
When Stacey Abrams sees a problem, she steps up to solve it. Now, it’s our turn to step up and make her the next governor of Georgia.
Thank you,
Valerie Jarrett
