Rachel Maddow and her team highlight Justice Sotomayor in a dissent from the bench that unearths the truth about theTrump regime Muslim Ban: racial animus and religious discrimination. Both in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
“With profound regret, I dissent.”
Dan Spinelli | June 26th, 2018
The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Tuesday to uphold President Donald Trump’s ban on allowing travel from six countries in a major decision that inspired outrage from the court’s liberal justices.
In a separate written dissent joined only by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Justice Sonia Sotomayor used Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric about Muslims to underscore the “stark parallels” between the majority opinion and one of the high court’s most shameful moments: Korematsu v. United States, the decision that upheld Japanese internment during World War II.
“A reasonable observer would conclude that the Proclamation was motivated by anti-Muslim animus,” Sotomayor wrote. “The majority holds otherwise by ignoring the facts, misconstruing our legal precedent, and turning a blind eye to the pain and suffering the Proclamation inflicts upon countless families and individuals, many of whom are United States citizens.”
This agenda has nothing to do with “national security”. As explained by both Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and below, Steve Schmidt, this Muslim Ban and the Trump / GOP regime’s agenda presents a threat to national security, democracy, and beyond.

One doesn’t have to agree with all Steve Schmidt’s points of view, to understand what is undeniable.
The trajectory that the GOP and Trump regime has this country on is undoing democracy and the U.S. Constitution.
And though unsustainable, the damage done right now by the GOP with Trump squatting in the White House could take many years to recover from if it isn’t stopped now, reversed in every aspect, with the country returned to and bound once again to the Constitution and the Rule of Law
