It’s The Marti’s birthday today. How can we do justice to the lovely lady who helps us laugh? How she multitasks, too! Every morning she pours the coffee and tea at the New Day Cafe… then she puts down her cafe apron and coffee pot and hurries over to don her tiara as Pootie Princess at the daily Pootie diary. She is such a fabulous hostess! We need to give her a party. Srsly, Marti manages two daily community diaries — islands of fun and friendship in this sea of madness we find ourselves in at present. We owe her a lot for all the smiles, laughter, and the opportunity to interact with friends and to make new ones.
So please join in! Together, let us create a fantasy birthday party for her.
Since we are imagining this party, I’ll kick things off with this table laid by Portland’s premier events planning company, Vibrant Table. Imagine a room filled with beautiful blooms -- because we want it to be gorgeous for Marti. And since Marti styles herself as L’il Miss Can’t Behave, why not have our fantasy lunch catered by Devil’s Food Catering (also in Portland) — because it will be fun as well as delicious.

Dig in! Oh, and add a chocolate fountain to the spread. I think we should have one of those.
And of course, we will need cake….lots and lots of cake…gotta have ice cream, too. And music! Honored guests, please post pictures of festive cakes and videos of favorite songs in the comments along with birthday greetings to Marti. And should you want to do more for her, I begged her as nicely as I could and have valuable information to share with you:
