Republican US Senators are spending this morning crying for the Kurds.. or, if not that, at least the US Troops who were put in danger.
Republican senators who watch the catastrophe happen now bemoan it. They knew what they were getting with Trump. Every. Single. One of them. It wasn’t just that their constituents were telling them, everyone with common sense could see it. Still, their constituents showed up to town halls, to their offices, and everywhere possible to let them know Trump was an unstable baffoon who would lead us to disaster.
For Republican senators though, the quest for power itself was all that mattered. If Donald J. Trump could reset the US Courts to undermine abortion, gay rights, and the rights of unions to organize, then who cares about the global catastrophes being caused.
The Guardian has a great article about the damage being done.
“This attack will spill the blood of thousands of innocent civilians because our border areas are overcrowded.”
The impact of the invasion on local communities is likely to send tens of thousands of people towards the Iraqi border, officials in Iraqi Kurdistan said. “We’re very worried about it,” one official said. “Of course we’d need to take care of them.”
Between Ras al-Ayn, and the town of Ain Issa – which was also bombed by Turkish jets – a local driver said the number of new exiles had started to grow by the evening, adding: “There are groups fleeing using whatever they find. People are scared of the artillery hitting hear the town.”
Republican senators waking up today and wringing your hands? You might try washing. I think I spot a touch of blood.
