The pointy headed DC class is all aflutter about the GOP’s latest attempt to spin the Bernie/Warren/AOC paradigm shift in this country that has unleashed the authentic populist movement America has been waiting for. Donald Trump’s election proved that big changes are possible, and if for the bad in his case then also possibly for the good in ours. Even Schumer and Pelosi seem liberated these days, the fresh air of unabashed but still tempered social democratic values like a new wind beneath their, how shall I put this, experienced wings. But there’s one little problem for the creeps in the GOP’s messaging factories:
WAPO:
”Some moderates argue that Republicans are overstepping voter sentiment and criticizing positions that are politically popular.
“What some political people don’t fully understand: Medicare for all is not a radical position,” Matthew Dowd, a former top Republican who is a vocal Trump critic, wrote on Twitter. “Increased taxes on the very wealthy is not a radical position. Gun reform is not radical. All are supported by a majority of the country. If you are a centrist, that is the center.”

Radicals? I wish, but no. Radically and refreshingly honest? Damn right. Rad? Definitely.
I just got done watching The Front Runner and it really makes you realize how hungry America has been for a real populist message that’s actually legitimately for the people. Gary Hart was a radical, talking about alternative open marriages as a young politician?!?! Can you imagine? Let’s be honest, compared to a real 1960s-forged radical, AOC sounds like a school marm. America has been impatiently waiting, for quite some time, but it looks like our Dems are finally finding their inner rad. And while sure, we may not be radicals, it’s clear the creeps in the GOP frankly have no idea how to react to what we are.
And what are we? Just a bunch of people actually doing our jobs to pass laws the majority of Americans support. That sounds radical to the GOP only because they just can’t imagine a world where politicians represent average people instead of billionaires.
