Remember the so-called “IRS Scandal” during the Obama Administration? When Republican Committee ‘witch-hunters’ were claiming the IRS was unfairly targeting Conservative 501c3 groups for audits.
Their unproven claim was that Conservative groups were being unfairly singled out, because of the IRS use of search terms like “Tea Party” to identity political groups claiming Tax Exemption status. This was in spite of the fact that liberal groups were also subject to the same “search term” narrowing (as explained in the Treasury Inspector General report).
Eighty-three of those groups were chosen because of the IRS's selection criteria, which included groups referencing terms like "Occupy," "Medical Marijuana" and "Progressive," as well as any affiliation with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

Well, during their “IRS Scandal” investigation — which went on for months — Republican Committee Chairs made use of the very same Tax Code law, that they are now claiming Democrats have no standing to use.
Republican Committee Chairs requested — and got — the Tax Returns of various conservative and liberal groups, as they saw fit. Some of which they even made public, in violation of the constraints of the authorizing law, as this recent HuffPost story explains ...
[...]
Republicans themselves used private tax returns for political purposes just a few years ago, and they used the very same law that Democrats are now relying on to request the last six years of Trump’s tax returns.
Back in 2013, Republicans thought the Internal Revenue Service under President Barack Obama was mistreating conservative groups that wanted to be recognized as tax-exempt nonprofits. So they asked the IRS to hand over tax information for conservative groups such as Crossroads GPS as well as a few liberal groups such as Priorities USA.
Congress has the power to ask for copies of anyone’s tax return thanks to a 1924 law enacted as a check on corruption in the executive branch.

IOKIYAR … It’s Only OK If You’re A Republican.
Dems have NO Right to demand accountability, according to an out-of-control and apparently Lawless GOP. If any “executive branch” needed a Check and Balance on their scoff-law behavior, the current one does however ...
Bill Barr thinks he works for Trump. He’s burying the Mueller Report evidence. He’s given Trump a copy of the Full Report, while Americans will get the exonerating crumbs. Bill Barr is spouting Trump-endorsed conspiracy theories about “being spied on” — while the prior Nunes Investigation, showed that the FISA Requests were authorized and approved by FISA Courts (ie. they were NOT “spying”).
Bill Barr is taking orders from Trump, to try and “overthrow” the ACA, even though he does not think this is a wise course of action himself. William Barr wrote a 14-page memo where he outlined why he thought the Special Counsel Investigation was out of line and unfounded — because according to Barr’s PERSONAL point of view, the Chief Executive should always be Above the Law. … And apparently by his recent actions, Barr thinks Trump should also be beyond the ‘Check and Balance’ responsibility of the Congress too. (Un-Redact this Congress, AG Barr dares you to … Stay tuned for those ‘unredaction please’ letters.)

The Teapot Dome Scandal was small potatoes, compared to what this Administration is trying to — and succeeding with — getting away with.
If any “executive branch” needed the Check and Balance scrutiny that that 1924 Law bestows to the Congress — this current one does.
The public’s need to uncover Trump’s deep-rooted conflicts of interests, only deepens, with every new Law that the trump administration “jokingly” throws into his Executive Shredder.
Lest we forget through it all, that Donald Trump is Putin’s Joke on us.
And they continue to get the last laugh … as Dems continue to write even more letters, which effectively say:
Even a Hill of Beans, has more weight to the GOP Bully-gang of letter-shredders we are up against.

The rest of you can go suck eggs. Now get lost, pronto!
