The Russian asset in the White House bragged to the NRA Friday about the sabotage he's done to the Affordable Care Act by getting rid of the individual mandate, and followed up with, "Now we're going for the rest." That provides a great segue to the survey that Public Policy Polling conducted to see how he's doing in Wisconsin, ahead of Trump’s upcoming planned trip to the state, finding that voters there have soured on him.
And it's all about their health care.
PPP found that "Democrats have a 10-point lead in trust over President Trump on the overall issue of healthcare (52% to 42%) and a 16-point lead with independents (53%-37%)." When asked specifically about protections for people with pre-existing conditions, voters are even more decided: 55% trust Democrats compared to just 42% that trust Trump.
More than that, Trump's blatant sabotage of the Affordable Care Act and Wisconsin's health care has 50% of voters (including 53% of independents) saying that they'd be less likely to vote for him this time around: "A majority of voters aged 18-45 (56%) and pluralities of voters aged 46-65 (48%) and older than 65 (46%) say they are less likely to vote for President Trump again in 2020 due to the Republican efforts to repeal the ACA." Wisconsinites are horrified at Trump's lawsuit to strike down the law, opposing it 57-32; and they really hate his proposed Medicaid and Medicare cuts: “A large majority (68% to 18%) further oppose Trump's proposed budget that cuts $1-trillion from Medicaid and $845-billion from Medicare. A plurality of Republicans (45%) oppose it as do a majority of Democrats (92%) and independents (68%).”
So you go, Trump. You saddle Republicans during the next election with "going for the rest." That's going to work out just fine—for Democrats.
