Welcome to Trump Russia Corruption Master Timeline #21.
This month Trump’s ex-lawyer seems to be a bit upset and put out that his attempt to obstruct justice with a phone message left for Michael Flynn’s Attorney has been released and he claims that all of Mueller’s report is a great big “Fraud” because he disagrees with how this conversation was described.
“This entire report by Mueller is a fraud,” he told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Monday night. “And we’re going to find more of these things. Isn’t it ironic that this man who kept indicting and prosecuting people for process crimes committed a false statement in his own report?” By taking out half y , they change the guise, tenor and context of my conversation with Rober Tenner, and there’s probably more.
The entire report, all the indictments and convictions they’ve achieved are a fraud? Yeah, this outta be fun to debunk.
As it turns out we now have the full transcript of Dowd’s conversation with Tenner due to Flynn’s Judge releasing it.
This is the relevant section of the Muller report Page #218.
Conduct towards Flynn, Manafort,~.
After Flynn withdrew from a joint defense agreement with the President and began cooperating with the government, the President's personal counsel left a message for Flynn' s attorneys reminding them of the President 's warm feelings towards Flynn, which he said "still remains," and asking for a "heads up" if Flynn knew"information that implicates the President." When Flynn's counsel reiterated that Flynn could no longer share information pursuant to a joint defense agreement, the President's personal counsel aid he would make sure that the President knew that Flynn 's actions reflected "hostility" towards the President.
So basically the Mueller didn’t even quote “half his words” at all, they only offered a summary of his statements which just quoted him saying “still remains” and “heads up” but he didn’t actually say the word “hostile” — it was inferred by Mueller that Trump’s warm feelings toward Flynn probably wouldn’t remain if he didn’t give them a “heads up.” Dowd doesn’t make it explicitly, but that’s a thinly veiled threat. If he wants to say he didn’t mean it like a threat, fine that’s his perogative but Dowd is frankly, lying. And now he’s using that lie to accuse Mueller of lying in his report not just in this section, but apparently in all his sections based on — well, nothing.
They also stated this additional information on Page 344, where they state that because of Attorney Client privilege there was no way they could legally link this threat to Trump himself.
Evidence concerning the President's intent related to Flynn as a potential witness is inconclusive. As previously noted, because of privilege issues we do not have evidence establishing whether the President knew about or was involved in his counsel' s communications with Flynn's counsel stating that Flynn's decision to withdraw fromd the joint defense agreement and cooperate with the government would be viewed as reflecting "hostility " towards the President. And regardless of what the President' s personal counsel communicated , the President continued to express sympathy for Flynn after he pleaded guilty pursuant to a cooperation agreement, stating that Flynn had "led a very strong life" and the President "fe[lt] very badly "about what had happened to him.
Consequently Mueller didn’t even list this phone call on his list of potentially obstructive acts by Trump partly because Trump didn’t do it, Dowd did, and they had no way to prove that Trump had ordered him to make this suggestive threat.
Dowd may be bent out of shape by it, but Mueller didn’t even consider this to be a legal breach. And if he thinks this “deceptive quote” is enough to discredit Mueller’s entire 448 page report he’s deeply mistaken, Mueller was just describing what the obvious purpose of the call was — to threaten Flynn and his lawyer if they choose to work with Mueller and the goverment.
Here are the daily events for this next month:
May 29th —
- McConnell is asked what he would do if a SCOTUS seat opens up next year during the election and he says “We’ll Fill it” — which is the opposite of what he did in 2016 with Merrick Garland’s nomination.
- Congressional Research Service indicates that Trump’s tax cut didn’t benefit the economy, and was a “big windfall for oligarchs.”
- Judge approves a deal to pause the Deutsche Bank subpoena but fast track the appeal.
- Trump urges Roy Moore not to run for Senate again. "You can't win.”
- Kellyanne Conway lashes out at Pelosi again: ‘She cannot control her temper!’. [Try looking in the Mirror, Ma’am.]
- Mueller makes a lengthy public statement where he resigns from the DOJ.
- He says “if we had confidence that Trump did not commit a crime, we would have said so.”
- He argues “My testimony would not provide more than what has already been released.” [Except for why you sent two letters and had a phone call with Bill Barr complaining about his 4-page statement/summary of your report.]
- He says that the never considered charging Trump for obstruction for two reasons 1) The OLC rules prohibit it and 2) It would be unfair to make an accusation that Trump couldn’t respond to in court because of the OLC rules. As a result they preserved evidence for Congress to consider the issue, or future Grand Juries once the OLC rules do not apply.
- The Justice Department memo he followed “says that the Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting president of wrongdoing.”
- “I certainly do not question the attorney general’s good faith” in opting not to initially release the report’s summary sections. [We do!]
- He confirms that Russia meddled in our 2016 election. [Which means they
might will do it again.]
- He says he never used the word “collusion” because it's not a legal term, but they didn't find enough evidence of a conspiracy by the Trump campaign with the Russian meddling effort.
- Nadler says “It’s time for Congress to take over.”
- Amash says “The ball is our court, Congress.”
- Shuckable Lies: “Mueller is moving on, everybody else should too.”
- Both Lindsay Graham and Trump say “The Case is Over.” [Only the DOJ case while Trump is in office, not the Congressional case.]
- Giuliani whines that Mueller's statement denying that Trump was “exonerated” was “gratuitous.” That his press conference was “Soviet Union” styled and ‘He’s lost his notion of American fairness’.
- Fox’s Brett Baier says despite what Trump says “This was not no collusion, no obstruction” and that Mueller's statement was “exactly the opposite of Bill Barr’s spin.”
- Sen. Mark Warner still wants to hear from Mueller in Congress.
- Pelosi applauds Mueller for “providing record for future action” by Congress. She says that Impeachment depends on “making a compelling case” to the public and slams Facebook for not removing the doctored video of her appearing to stammer.
- Sen. Kamala Harris: Mueller is ‘essentially referring impeachment to the United States Congress’
- James Clapper nails Trump’s ‘disturbing’ refusal to acknowledge Russian meddling after Mueller’s press conference.
- Andrew Napolitano says there’s “zero chance” we won't hear from Mueller again.
- Judiciary Chairman Nadler makes a statement that Trump is lying when he says there was “No collusion, no obstruction", “We will hold (Trump) accountable”, “We will continue our investigation” and says in response to the Impeachment question “All options are on the table.” Russia attacked our Democracy and the Trump campaign welcomed that attack. “No one, not even (Trump) is above the law.”
- Brad Pascale attacks Amash and calls him a “Grandstanding Swamp Creature” [They have swamps in Grand Rapids, Michigan?]
- DC Reports argues that the biggest take away from Mueller's press conference is that Trump refuses to admit that Russia helped him in the election. [Yes, really, they did and so did Comey without meaning too — and the fact is he probably can't win again without that kind of help since every Democrat is alre
- Joe Digenova calls US Attorney John Huber’s investigation into the Clinton investigation “a farce” because he hasn't yet empaneled a Grand Jury and seems to have left things to IG Horowitz, and he knows this because Digenova represents some of the people making the key accusations about Uranium One.
May 30th —
- WH staffers sent orders to the DOD and Navy to have the USS John S. McCain hidden from sight while Trump was in Japan. [Technically this was pointless because the ship is named after Senator McCain’s father and grandfather who were both Navy Admirals.] Reportedly tarps and tugboats where used to hide the name of the ship, and deck hands and officers with the name of the ship on their hats and clothes were blocked from entering a Trump event.
- Eric Trump thinks Mueller was "talking in code” because he didn’t rule out obstruction. [He didn't, because he couldn’t — Trump obstructed.]
- Trump angrily tweets that he had nothing to do with Russia helping him get elected. [Helping you do what??! Well, actually you didn’t tell them to STOP, you didn't tell them you didn't want their help, your people didn’t report them and lied to the FBI about them. All you said was “I Love Wikileaks” and “Russia, if you’re listening….” So yeah, you had something to do with it, you encouraged it and accepted it.] Then he claims Mueller only got the Special Counsel job because of his “love” of Comey. [From Rod Rosenstein, the guy who wrote the memo that got Comey fired?] He says Impeach is “Dirty, Filthy, Disgusting” word, and that “they’ll never do it beause the courts won’t let them.” [The courts have nothing to do with Congressional votes.] Then he pardons two War Criminals and the country shrugs.
- Trump’s camp in the WH try to spin “Russia helped me get elected” into a “typo”. [What did he mean to say that Russia helped him get defected? Dejected? Erected? What?]
- Documents indicate that the citizenship question was added to the census in order to help the GOP gerrymander Democratic voters completely out of relevance.
- Former Senator Thad Cochran dies, and Trump uses the occasion to take another cheap swipe at John McCain.
- Feds subpoena Mar-A-Lago for information on ex-Massage Madam turned Chinese spy helper/foreign money launderer Cindy Li Chang.
- Steve King: Treating all cultures as “equal” devalues the Founding Fathers. [Nope, not a trace of supremacy there. Nuh uh.]
- Rep. Tom Mclintock (R-CA) demands that Mueller testify and “answer for his conduct.” [WTF does that mean?] “I rejected the premise that Mueller put forward that he could not recommend prosecution because a sitting president cannot be indicted. That’s horse manure,” McClintock griped to Fox News host Harris Faulkner. [It’s in the OLC memos and even Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekolow agree with it.] “He can be indicted after he leaves office.” [Yes, he can unless he leaves early specifically to get pardoned on the way out.]
- Roger Stone’s Attys try to argue that the charges of lying to Congress should be dropped because they didn't make a specific referral for prosecution to the DOJ, however Devin Nunes was the one who released Stone’s transcript to the DOJ “without reservations.” [Also Congress didn’t have his phone and text messages which is what showed that he lied to them and tried use Randy Credico as a scapegoat.]
- Bill O’Reilly reports in an interview that Trump called him last night to complain the “Mueller hates him" because Trump refused to refund a $15,000 country club deposit Mueller wanted back because he was moving. [Yeah, no - he's not like petty and vindictive like you and takes his job seriously.] He also thought Mueller was upset he wasn't appointed FBI head again after Comey was fired. [He was the longest serving FBI director except for Hoover already. Again, petty.]
- Support for Trump’s ability to make better trade deals for the US has dropped from 62% after the election in 2016 down to just 40% in the wake of his bungling with China.
- Bloomberg reports that Trump and the GOP clearly don't understand what ‘insufficient evidence’ actually means. [It doesn’t mean “no evidence”, it could be “lots of evidence” but not "conclusive evidence beyond a reasonable doubt” which can occur when fives or six people all lie, obstruct, destroy evidence and witness tamper at the same time.]
- Trump denies that the OLC opinion saved him from being indicted claiming that “there were no charges to bring" [Mueller made a list of ten cases of obstruction, 3-4 of which are fully valid on all needed elements] Then he gives another bonkers helicopter drowned press conference on the South lawn where he claims Mueller is out to get him over not getting his country club deposit back 7 years ago. [If he was that mad about it, don't you think that he would have gotten you no matter what the OLC said? Also don't you think Comey, McCabe, Strzok and Page would have leaked you were being investigated before the election if they wanted to seriously take you down now matter what?]
- CNN's John Avlon says the Trump brazenly lies about Mueller to his supporters because he thinks they’re that gullible. [They are, but then again, so is he.]

One thing in the report that is important to note is the job of the special counsel is to refer an indictment or decline a referral on indictment — that is it.” [No, that’s not it — he specifically noted that OLC rules prevented him from indicting, so he didn’t make a recommendation on that because he thought it would be unfair since Trump couldn’t defend himself in court and then said that Congress should take up the issue.]

You didn’t report shit to the Attorney General or the FBI. You fired the FBI Director for investigating Flynn who lied about talking to Russians, you tried to get AG Sessions to unrecuse himself because he was part of the campaign and had talked to Russians. You tried to fire Mueller using McGahn then tried to get him to lie about it and then tried to use Corey Lewandowski to get Sessions to fire Mueller instead. This is bullshit!]

Jennifer Rubin trashed Trump's claim that he “loves his country” by pointing out all the times he’s betrayed America. “He loves America so much that he’d lie about doing a real estate deal during the campaign,” she scoffed. “He loves it so much that he encouraged Russia to release Clinton emails and proclaimed his love for the Russian cutout WikiLeaks. He loves it so much that he wouldn’t dissolve his businesses or stop taking foreign monies. He loves it so much that he never expressed outrage that former members of his campaign committed felonies.”

Trump whines that he’s treated “worse than Lincoln” [Lincoln was assasinated following a Civil War that started in opposition to him winning the electoral college] Then he misquotes AOC on twitter on the subject of Impeachment and she slams him right back.
