Since I became Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee in January, combating climate change has been central to a lot of our work. I’ve put a premium on hearing from people who have felt marginalized — not just by this administration, but by our economy and our political process as a whole.
Today, I’m hosting an hour-long livestreamed conversation with youth climate activists in Washington. I and Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.), who chairs the Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittee, will give the floor to three panels of young Americans fighting every day for a cleaner economy, a safer world and a more livable future.
This is not a photo op. Activists have the mic. We hope you’ll join us and spread the word.
This link will go live at 3:00 p.m. Eastern, and the event will start 30 minutes later. Join us at https://www.facebook.com/nrdems/videos/2667541589943033.
