In what feels like centuries ago, Rudy Giuliani made a mistake in a tweet that led to the creation of the website G-20.in. At first, the website only had the message “Donald J. Trump is a traitor to our country.” That way, whoever clicked the unintentional link in Giuliani’s tweet would see that message.
Later on, the website was updated to include headlines documenting Trump’s treason. At the time, General Mattis had resigned as Secretary of Defense. It happened a little over a year ago, but it feels like time immemorial.
I forgot about that website until a couple of days ago. I pulled it up, and it showed a timeline of Trump’s incompetent handling of the coronavirus pandemic, starting with Trump’s proposed cuts to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in 2018, and going forward to April 1 of this year, when Michael James reported more than a thousand coronavirus deaths that day for USA Today. Whether Trump’s handling of the crisis is due to his treasonous nature or to his incompetence is a question for historians to ponder. Assuming civilization survives long enough for historians to ponder these interesting times we live in.
Meanwhile, on a parallel Earth, how is President Hillary Clinton handling the coronavirus pandemic? A lot better. The travel industry is still suffering, but on parallel Earth, America has flattened the curve. Parallel Americans are still advised to practice social distancing, just in case.
Even so, the parallel Earth Republicans decide to impeach parallel President Clinton anyway, accusing her of handling the crisis in an incompetent manner. Parallel “Moscow” Mitch had the gall to say that a Republican president would be held to the exact same standard. Even without knowing about our universe, the people in that parallel Earth knew parallel Earth “Moscow” Mitch had just said a bald-faced lie.
