“Though the Constitution says otherwise, the President says that he calls the shots.”
“I’m Steve Inskeep, for Morning Edition.”
That was the introduction to Morning Edition on NPR News at 8:00 this morning.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Four years and 10 days ago, I wrote a diary entitled “The Leader”. At the time, it addressed Trump’s assertion that the military would not refuse to do war crimes, if he ordered them to commit war crimes.
'm a leader. I'm a leader. I've always been a leader. I've never had any problem leading people. If I say do it, they're going to do it. That's what leadership is all about.
It seems that Trump’s idea of the Presidency is that he should be able to command and that all would obey — laws and Constitution and duty be damned.
He’s been acting this way for four years. It’s just nice to hear it on NPR.
