That's why I endorsed Reverend Raphael Warnock for U.S. Senate in Georgia – and why I’m asking you to support his campaign today.
Reverend Warnock is the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. If elected, he'd be the first black senator our state has ever elected. Reverend Warnock is running to restore moral leadership to Washington and to stand up for Georgia families who have been left behind by Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump.
With Republicans turning their backs on the hardworking people of Georgia, it's never been more important to elect leaders like Reverend Warnock who will lead by and for the people – someone who will be a champion for voting rights, workers' rights, affordable health care and more.
Reverend Warnock gives me hope that we can create a better and brighter future for all, not just the lucky few.
But here's what's at stake: Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight says Democrats can take back the Senate – but we have to win in Georgia. Winning this battleground state is key to Democrats righting the ship and retaking the Senate majority.
Right now, Reverend Warnock is up against a crucial fundraising deadline – but with time running out, he's still falling short and can't make up the difference without your support. So I have to ask: Please, friend, will you give $5 or more now – before midnight tonight – to help Reverend Warnock flip Georgia blue and take back the Senate for Democrats?
