Join us this coming Friday, April 17, at 4:00 PM Pacific/7:00 PM Eastern LIVE for a virtual Daily Kos community event via Zoom!
Bill in Portland Maine, author of our long-running Cheers & Jeers series, will connect with Daily Kos staff and community members Mark Sumner, TheFatLadySings, and Denise Oliver-Velez. There will be musical guests and audience participation! It will last 30-45 minutes.
You’ll hear from:
- Daily Kos staff writer Mark Sumner, Daily Kos’ resident expert on COVID-19, will discuss the current status of the virus and his news coverage on the topic.
- Daily Kos community member TheFatLadySings, who has been writing a regional series from New Mexico on, will answer questions on how we can take action on COVID-19 within our communities right now.
- Daily Kos community member Denise Oliver-Velez, a fellow in the Community Contributors program, will delve into the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has had on communities of color.
- We will also feature musical guests, including Paul Hogarth and kos and his original piano compositions.

As a member of that group you’ll receive a private password to participate in this new Zoom event. We are limiting participants to 100 so please only sign up if you are sure you can attend—thanks!
In order to attend the event, you will need sign up for a free Zoom account at zoom.us. Use your Daily Kos username as the title you’d like to display on screen. Check your system and make sure it’s compatible. Panelists will be viewable by video, attendees will participate via audio only.
