Dear Jack Dorsey,
It may surprise you to learn that someone is using your service in a way that is almost entirely contrary to the Rules and Guidelines of your lovely company, Twitter. I do believe you may be familiar with this person whose usage of your platform has become increasingly abusive. His name is Donald John Trump, and I believe he has done nearly everything your guidelines clearly state he should not.
As I was looking at Twitter’s Abusive Behavior Policy, I noted that in the section describing ‘when this applies’ the guideline states that: “To help our teams understand the context of a conversation, we may need to hear directly from the person being targeted.” I must say that I was heartened to learn that you have entire teams for this purpose. I don’t think hearing directly from the person(s) will be too difficult, since the list is lengthy, but my primary concern is the abuse being directed at the group mentioned in my comment at the end.
To facilitate your comprehension of this issue, I’ve taken the liberty of copying below the material on your website which covers the matter at hand. I’ve accented some key words and phrases in bold to perhaps make it easier for someone as busy as yourself to quickly understand.
ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR
Twitter Rules: You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.
Rationale: On Twitter, you should feel safe expressing your unique point of view. We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up.
In order to facilitate healthy dialogue on the platform, and empower individuals to express diverse opinions and beliefs, we prohibit behavior that harasses or intimidates, or is otherwise intended to shame or degrade others. In addition to posing risks to people’s safety, abusive behavior may also lead to physical and emotional hardship for those affected.
So, Mr. Dorsey, in conclusion, I believe that Donald John Trump has in fact used his Twitter account to engage in the targeted harassment of, the attempt to silence the voice of, and the shame and degradation of THE ENTIRE F***ING FOURTH ESTATE!!! In addition this abusive behavior has led to physical and emotional hardship for THE ENTIRE F***ING COUNTRY!!!
Your attention to this matter will be most kindly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mark
p.s. I believe some others who read this will be happy to provide you with entries to the long list of additional person(s) who have experienced the abusive behavior of this Individual.
