Well, we’re there.
The total identified cases in the US just passed 1 million, with over 56,000 deaths. We now have more identified cases than the next five nations (Spain, Italy, France, Germany, UK) put together. Our mortality rate, based on identified cases, is over 5.5%.
It’s the tip of the iceberg. As NYC has shown, the total number of actual cases certainly far exceeds the official total, as does the number of actual deaths from it.
We, as a nation, have failed. Our government has failed us. We are certainly in better shape than we would have been had we done nothing, but what we have done is because of heroic governors, and not because of our federal government.
One of the prime purposes of the federal government is to defend the nation. I ask you, how has Trump defended us?
I know I’m preaching to the choir, but with many states rushing to “normality” before they’re ready, we’re in for a long, hard road.
