North Paulding HS achieved unwanted but well-deserved notoriety last week after suspending two students who posted photos of the crowded hallways with unmasked students. The suspensions were later rescinded after the story became national and provoked a widespread outcry.
Well guess what? After being open one week, the school has now six students and three custodial staff who have tested positive for covid-19. So for this coming week it’s back to on-line classes while the situation is being evaluated. Who knows how many students and staff have actually been infected.
Why school districts think it possible to open schools in areas where the virus is raging, which is certainly the case in GA, is baffling. That they thought they could do so without taking the slightest precautions is beyond all understanding.
This is a story that will be repeated throughout this country in the coming weeks
