First off, I want to say that Robin Williams has been and will forever be my all time favorite comedian. I grew up loving and idolizing Williams as both a performer and a person and the day he took his life and I teared up heavily. He truly was a wonderful man who brought the world so much joy. So I wasn’t a big fan when this shit head pulled this stunt:
A video from a 2009 Robin Williams special, showing the late comedian making fun of then-Vice President Joe Biden, has been circulating online in recent days. Eric Trump shared the video on Twitter — and Williams' daughter, Zelda Williams, responded, saying her dad also made fun of President Trump.
The now-viral clip is from Williams' special, "Weapons of Self Destruction." In it, the late comedian says: "We still have great comedy out there. There's always rambling Joe Biden." He proceeds to mock Biden, flubbing his words.
On Thursday, President Trump's son Eric shared the clip on Twitter with a caption saying: "Robin Williams just savages Joe Biden."
Luckily, Williams daughter, Zelda, put that little shit head in his place:
"While we're 'reminiscing' (to further your political agenda), you should look up what he said about your Dad. I did," Zelda wrote, alongside Eric's post. "Promise you, it's much more 'savage.'"
"Gentle reminder that the dead can't vote, but the living can," she continued, adding a heart emoji.
Although Zelda didn't offer any more details regarding her late father's comments about Trump, fans on Twitter were quick to find a comedy bit in which Robin absolutely ripped the President. While it's not confirmed it's the joke Zelda was referring to, it definitely seems very "savage."
Here’s the bit by the way:
So good. Speaking of Biden, here’s a few things I’m really liking from him. Like putting Elon Musk on notice:
Joe Biden wants to go big on climate change and big on unions. Elon Musk leads on the former but lags on the latter.
Why it matters: Musk isn’t uniquely averse to unions, but Tesla is considered a leader on the type of new technologies needed to tackle climate change. Musk’s leadership ethos could be in the crosshairs if Biden becomes president and follows through on his campaign vows.
Catch up fast: Biden’s climate-change plan calls for renewable energy to largely replace oil, natural gas and coal and for a huge buildout of electric vehicles. He is also pushing for these clean-energy industries to embrace unions, which they largely have not.
I’m also liking this:
Three months out from the presidential election, progressive groups are coming up with names and key criteria for the kinds of judicial nominees they want presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden to appoint if he wins the White House.
HuffPost spoke with more than half a dozen organizations that acknowledged they’re already planning for how to reshape the courts under a potential Biden presidency. Many were reluctant to talk about lists of specific names they’re compiling, although they admitted it’s happening.
“I would be lying if I said ― in fact, any civil rights or progressive organization would be lying ― if they said there aren’t people they would prefer to see on the bench, because the courts are significant to our ability to advance the constitutional rights and protections that we are committed to advancing,” said Myesha Braden, director of Alliance for Justice’s Building the Bench program, which recruits candidates for federal court seats.
