From Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass:
“Alice laughed. 'There's no use trying,' she said. 'One can't believe impossible things.'
I daresay you haven't had much practice,' said the Queen. 'When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
The Queen must have had a little fur in her ancestry because furkids have no problem at all in believing impossible things before breakfast, second breakfast, snacks and supper, and they dream impossible dreams when they snooze, nap and sleep. That’s why they feel simpatico with this song and want to share it with you.
A great many wonderful singers have recorded this song including Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey. In the end we couldn’t agree between Matt Monro, who sang the song for the movie “Sabrina”, and Richard Kiley who won a Tony award for his role as Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha” — so we decided to include both! This seemed the best solution since sometimes one video doesn’t work for everyone. If both videos work for you, you’ve just given yourself a wonderful reason to singalong to it twice!
