What an opening night! Powerful, creative and artistic. A true portrayal of America, if you remove the dark clouds of the trump malignancy.
Check out some videos of the Democratic Convention opening night in diary — The Rising by Bruce Springsteen and other scenes from the Democratic Convention.
Here are some equally creative segments from the late night shows that followed the convention. And some music from the convention itself.
This short video from the Late Show gets to the heart of the problem and the solution. It’s Captain America Biden vs Thanos trump in the battle for the soul of the nation.
Here is the rest of the Stephen Colbert monologue -
Sheryl Crow sings “Woman in the White House” 😄
Orville Peck and Shania Twain on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon takes on trump -
And once again, the brilliant Brice Springsteen video from last night -
And who can forget this rendition of the National Anthem, sung by the voices of our future.
A very uplifting closing act by Billy Porter and Steven Stills.
The convention got off to a great start and is much better and more substantive than anyone expected, given it’s virtual and online format. Quite slick too. Kudos to the production team. Of course it is no surprise — unquestionably, liberals are far more creative and artistic than conservatives.
Let’s savor Day 1 in all its glory; more to come tonight.
