Last night, during the 11pm MSNBC round up of the DNC, Nicolle Wallace gave an analysis of Obama’s speech that was simply incredible. Part of it (from around 0:20 to 1:35) was so deeply heartfelt that one could tell she was trying to hold back tears. It was at once deeply critical of Trump, incredible praise of Obama, and patriotic at the same time.
The gist of it (spoiler alert! If you’re going to click on the below, skip this paragraph!) was that every president feels the weight of a sacred trust when they assume the presidency, and that Trump is so selfish and clueless, that he’s profaning the office by his self-grift, and that all of it is just so abhorrent to every living president. She was sure that Bush feels the same way (would he every say so?)
In any event, I can’t put words together like she did. I’ve been growing to like her more and more. Now? I think the world of her. Just stupendously awesome.
Spend 3-½ minutes and watch this. You’ll be glad you did.
