By now, everyone has seen and heard Joe Biden’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention 2020. It was a speech for the ages, a speech for our times, a speech about the future and a speech about the soul of our nation.
Here is the speech again for those who missed it and for those who want to watch and cherish it again and again. You can read the full transcript at www.cnn.com/…
Here is a video of the highlights of Day 4 of an incredible convention, a convention full of great speeches from the best souls of our nation, a convention that highlighted the strength and compassion of our people and a convention that whose execution reflected the creativity and ingenuity of America and of Democrats.
What made the night so powerful was not just the speech itself. Setting aside all the punditry about low expectations, about republicans’ framing of “sleepy” Biden or how he is not capable of Obama’s soaring eloquence, what made the night so powerful was the authenticity, passion and the lifetime of struggle, achievement and service of Joe Biden. This was not a new improved Joe Biden we saw; what we saw was the real Joe, a man who has served this country as the Senator from Delaware for 36 years and as the Vice President of the United States for 8 years. Throughout his life, he established himself as an honest, selfless and capable leader, with an uncanny ability to connect with people and to solve problems amidst the complexities and vagaries of Washington.
This enlightening video, which was presented before the speech, shows Joe for what he is -
