I’m sure it was in response to Jacinda’s not so subtle swipes at trump. Whose name she never even mentioned.
“I think everyone can see that in New Zealand today, we are talking 11 cases, whereas the United States has been dealing with over 40,000 cases,” Ardern said.
“But it’s not just whether you have cases, it’s how you choose to deal with them as a nation, and I am personally very proud of how New Zealanders have taken to the battle with Covid-19.”
Notice that her remarks are not about her. They are about “us”.
In an earlier response to the orange racketeering racist, she had similarly noted (same Guardian source as above):
“I think anyone who’s following Covid and its transmission globally will quite easily see that New Zealand’s nine cases in a day does not compare to the United States’ tens of thousands, and in fact does not compare to most countries in the world,” she said.
The covidiot in charge of all things Putin has allocated to him, had in fact declared that newspapers were trumpeting NZ’s covid-less 100 days in order to “show him something”, because of course everything is about him. But the “invisible enemy” has apparently been let back into NZ by the Chinese, I think he’s saying.
Well, someone on Twitter who loves his freedumb did not like his bufoonish hero being dissed, and so he claimed that we
• Can’t leave — untrue. We can; we don’t want to go somewhere more dangerous; and we ‘d have to pay for our own isolation upon return.
• Are back in lockdown for major parts of the country — 1 part: Auckland. Yes, it’s major if you mean lots of people. It will end (we all think) in about 3 days. Because the newly discovered cluster will (we hope) be contained by then.
• Quarantine camps — WTF? People are required to quarantine who test positive (duh!) There are no tents or campfires, as far as we know.
• Hellhole — Ooh boy, we had fun with that one! You really will want to read the Kiwi responses to that yourself, but here are my 2 favorites:
From someone gazing at stunning scenery from their deck:
The morning pastry in the quarantine camp didn't have enough chocolate sprinkles and the pattern in my flat white was not very detailed. #NZhellhole
From the mother of a surfer:
My son was trying to escape detection by hiding inside a wave yesterday, its extreme the lengths you have to go to in this #NZHellhole
From someone very sarcastic:
'Soooo embarrassing living in a country where our leader sticks to an evidence based approach to fighting Covid. Why can't we have a bold, innovative, globally respected leader telling us all to drink bleach? #NZHellhole,'
But yah, you really do need to see the photos so follow the links.
We’d actually love to see you all here enjoying this with us. As soon as the madness is over and you’re allowed in — please visit!
