I don't post often, but I can't understand why this bit from Trump's speech in Minnesota didn't get more publicity. The only way I can interpret what he said is that he believes the out of control Covid situation in America is because God is testing him.
So, he says that since he wasn't humble enough, God is punishing him by tanking the economy, which we all know is a direct consequence of Covid. Thus God killed all those people to punish Trump.
From the transcript of Trump's speech --
We achieved together and what we’re doing together is nothing short of an economic miracle and now we’re doing it again. We did it, we built the greatest economy in the history of the world and now I have to do it again. You know what that is? That’s right, that’s God testing me. He said, “You know, you did it once,” and I said, “Did I do a great job, God? I’m the only one that could do it?” He said, “That you shouldn’t say. Now we’re going to have you do it again.” I said, “Okay, I agree. You got me.” But I did it once and now I’m doing it again and you see the kind of numbers that we’re putting up, they’re unbelievable.
You would think that such amazing hubris would be offensive to religious people of all faiths, but as usual, there are only crickets to be heard.
