Trump as usual tried another bait and switch claiming another therapeutic emergency authorization was a “cure” for COVID. The announcement was designed to get amplified during the RNC. They’re counting that there’s enough people who will want to play the odds, free-riding off others wearing masks.

So, what we predicted has happened. Trump overruled the FDA and forced them to permit hospitals to use a plasma treatment that hasn’t been shown to work. You’ll recall there was news a week ago that wasn’t good for plasma. So Trump overruled them so he could announce something.
