Joe Biden was raised to hate bullies. His mother told him time and time again that he was no better than anyone else and that no one else was better than him. She taught him to treat everyone with respect and that the worst kind of person uses their power to make others feel bad.
When he was a kid, Biden’s parents came home from a Christmas party and young Joe learned that his dad had just quit his job. Evidently, Joe’s dad’s boss, drunk with power, had dumped a bucket of silver dollars on the floor and then laughed at his employees as they scrambled to collect them. Joe Sr. quit on the spot.
When Biden got bullied by kids bigger then him and came home crying and bloody, his mom sent him back out to fight them. She told him that Biden’s never back down from bullies. There was nothing worse than someone who used their power over those weaker and they would never let those people stand unchallenged.
When a nun made fun of Biden’s stutter, his mom marched right into the school, confirmed the story and then turned to that nun and -- despite being a devout catholic -- told that nun that if she ever made fun of Joe again she would rip that bonnet off her head.
Biden still hates bullies and still believes in fighting for their victims. Biden was horrified by the slaughter in Bosnia and called it what it was — genocide. He pushed both Bush and Clinton to stand up against tyranny. When he met with Milosevic, Milosevic tried to convince him that there was no ethnic cleansing. “What do you think” asked Milosevic. “I think you are a damn war criminal,” said Biden.
Biden can’t stomach people using their power to harm or belittle others.
Joe Biden will be a great president
