If I may steal liberally from his diary of 26 July:
Voting in the 2020 Presidential Election starts on September 18, because of early voting and absentee voting.
Thirty-nine states and DC offer early voting. All states offer absentee voting, all of which starts before Election Day.
Seven states offer early voting beginning 45 days before Election Day, which is September 18 — only 50 days from today.
Why is this important? Because we need to get people to the polls. With so many states offering early voting, or absentee voting by mail, there is no excuse for not voting. We need to hammer away on this point, especially in states where voter suppression is rampant.

“By the way...I’ve heard all about how they’re playing games with the post office, in terms of “late ballots”. I have a suggestion, which might not work in all areas, but I’m in the Atlanta area, and I’m guessing my local post office is likely considered in a “liberal” area. However, the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area has many areas (with their own post offices) that are in decidedly Red leaning or SOLID Red voting areas.
If you are worried about your ballot getting in on time, see if you can travel across town to the Post Office in the Deep Red Neighborhood. Most large urban areas have these...mail your ballot there. There won’t be any way to tell how you voted, but dropping your ballot in a deep red district means they’ll make sure every ballot from THAT part of town gets there on time.

Early in-person voting starts October 6 and ends November 2. Absentee ballot postmark deadline November 2. General Election November 3, hours 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Finally and this is important, voters are able to drop off absentee ballots at your county Board of Elections site drop boxes until 7:30 PM on November 3.:
