The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge. We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns.
We invite you to note what you are seeing around you in your own part of the world, and to share your observations in the comments below.
Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the phenological patterns that are quietly unwinding around us. To have the Daily Bucket in your Activity Stream, visit Backyard Science’s profile page and click on Follow.
Today is the day we celebrate No Science! in our lives. Science is messy, complicated, inconvenient, and a thing we are much better off living without. Science is just a headache.
For instance, who needs this headache?
Or this one?
We celebrate No Science! because “science”, literally, means “knowledge”. So, by celebrating No Science! we celebrate No Knowledge and, after all, Ignorance Is Bliss.
All right. That didn’t go so good. I’ve been toying with this “no science” theme for quite awhile, actually several weeks now, and my intent was to show, through satire, that we can’t live without science in our lives. Turns out I’m not very good at creating satire.
So, what I’m going to do is just put this out there as an Open Thread, and toss in some of my favorite photos from my archives.
And maybe a goofy one or two.
