Donald Trump just falsely promised a COVID Vaccine by the end of the year, or possibly sooner (wink, wink). But there’s no concern for public health when in the midst of a pandemic, he holds a mass RNC public gathering at our Capitol, with no masking nor social distancing.
Back in March, qualified experts cited 18 months as an optimistic target, and that’s a RUSH with all hands on deck. Donald Trump,”not a doctor”, says he will make it 8 -10 months. How?
The facts. For a vaccine to be ready it must pass three main hurdles:
Step 1. The formula itself must be developed. As of June, there were a dozen such formulated vaccines around the world sitting in the lab. So technically, vaccines exist now. But there are two more steps needed.
Step 2. The testing and trial phase. This is the larger scale testing to determine: is it safe, is it effective, how large a dose is needed, what are long and short term side effects, and so on. Only at the end of this phase is a vaccine Medically safe and ready.
Step 3. Manufacturing and distribution.The mass production and distribution for the hundreds of millions doses needed, would take many weeks at best. (Even with some pre-production.)
Here’s what we predict from Donald Trump: He will abuse power to intervene during Step 2:
In October, he will issue an Executive Order stating, without responsible medical backing, that the testing and trial phase is complete, and in big ceremony will authorize mass production. {Arms spread wide stating “NO OTHER PRESIDENT...” } He will likely target Moderna’s vaccine since he’s bankrolled it and can pressure them.
Then he will tell a further lie, that distribution will take only weeks to get into your local clinic. You’ll be immune by Christmas or shortly thereafter. Sure.
HERE’S THE KEY: What does he care if it’s a lie? By late November, if he’s re elected on this ploy, what will you do when the truth dawns on you?
HE LIED ABOUT THE PANDEMIC CALLING IT A HOAX, HE LIES again and again THAT IT’s GOING AWAY, HE LIED ABOUT HYDROXYCLOROQUINE (which hospitals still use it?) HE LIES ABOUT HOW WELL HIS ADMIN IS HANDLING IT and THE NUMBERS, get the picture? NOW HE LIES ABOUT THE VACCINE.
Now here’s what a Biden administration will plan, using actual facts…..
