Arrested off the streets in broad daylight by anything-but-peace officers in unmarked cars. They had come to support Americans. Some folks from the Seattle area had arrived in Kenosha and were planning to provide free food to protesters. Let’s remember that people are in Kenosha protesting because many of us take exception to a police force and a County Sheriff who provide water and thanks to murderous, gun toting vigilantes while obfuscating the attempted murder of Jacob Blake in front of his kids and on his youngest sons birthday. Same town, same police. Being out after police announce a curfew should not be a death sentence. The local constabulary with assistance of the Feds physically blocked and then surrounded a private vehicle on a public street. Then they smashed in the window so they could haul out the occupants and lock them up. Wisconsin Nice. [The Seattle Times is behind a paywall but you get a few free views.]
This is what fascism looks like. Visiting the fear and brutality of the State on those trying to help. We see public servants paid to ‘protect and serve’ emerge from unmarked cars, smash in the window of a mini van, on a public street, in broad daylight, after receiving a tip (from Karen?) and assigning lots of officers to stalk the van. I fear the cops more than the folks in that van. Again we see police act to protect and serve privilege. It’s their bloodline and ancestry, the protection of privilege.
Welcome to that part of Wisconsin over there near Paul Ryan (remember him?) and Racine. Jacob Blake was shot seven, yes seven, times in the back. Of course this could be most-any-town USA.
There is a plea for support for Seattle based Kitchen Riot whose members were arrested. A tweet included in the online article states; ‘Please share and donate for bail via Venmo riotkitchen206’
Our country must be reclaimed from the criminal cabal currently reigning in our once public and democratic government. They must be replaced and (some how) removed from power by our communal will and continuous, overwhelming participation and turnout. Peace.
